We are delighted to say that we won Gold in the Glamping Business of The Year category and Bronze in the Wildlife Friendly Business of the Year. Cornwall has many wonderful Glamping Businesses, so we are over the moon for Ekopod to get Gold, especially in the year of the pandemic.
In addition one of our key aims when we took over at Ekopod was to run a business that allowed us ‘To give back to the land we are working on, by working on habitat restoration for native British species and creating an environmentally friendly business’. So we were delighted to also get a bronze in the Wildlife category and to be recognised as having some success in this area that is so personally important to us. Congratulations to The Cornish Seal Sanctuary who won gold in this category.
The award ceremony normally happens in Turo Cathedral, but this year it was all done online and it was a credit to the organisers how enjoyable an online award ceremony can be. It was lovely to see all the different hospitality businesses that were recognised in a year that has been unprecedented in the pressure it has put on our industry. We all received a goody box of local treats before the ceremony, so we could have virtual drink together, even though we couldn’t meet up in ‘real life’.
We want to say thank you so much to all our guests that have supported us so much, particularly in the crazy year that was 2020. We love what we do and we can’t wait to open again soon!
